    uh, that didn’t happen. CU is not privatized. They are still a functioning public school district.

    • Yes it did happen. You can see that the original post is all footnoted. Below is another article showing the history. It was described as a “failed privatization experiment” – but involved people making lots of money and not serving young people. McCord led Early Stage Partners invested in Learn Now which quickly cashed out. It returned to a locally elected school board in 2010. Edison Schools, pulled out during the period the state was running it. One fundamental question is, does he still thinks there is a role for for-profit education management companies in Public Ed? http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=news/local&id=8505870
